CLAYROOM

We completed the build-out of Clayroom’s new West Oakland studio, transforming a former restaurant space into a functional, light-filled environment for ceramics production, classes, and community use.

Designed by FORGE Architecture, the project included new accessible restrooms and stair improvements, interior framing and finishes, flooring, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and electrical upgrades across the multi-level space. Specialized improvements included dedicated sinks and clay-trap systems, kiln ventilation, and infrastructure for the studio’s glazing and kiln areas. Working within the character of the existing building, the completed studio pairs open workshop areas with the technical infrastructure needed to support the day-to-day demands of a working ceramics studio.
